How to Ditch the “Burn to Earn” Mindset
Diet culture sets us up for failure in our relationship with movement when the focus lies on calories in vs. calories out. It tells us that we need to “burn off” certain foods, or “earn” the opportunity to eat out at a favorite restaurant. Spoiler: guilt is not a sustainable motivator for incorporating exercise, and energy balance is much more complicated than calories in vs. out.
